P.O.W. Diaries 1945 April 18 1945 J.H.Hallam Stalag VIIIB

Wednesday 18 April 1945

We had a terrific storm last night. I slept through all that. We had our breakfast in bed this morning, and stayed there till dinner time. The soup was much better, and I also got my buckshees today. Still browned off. Guns are heard quite near today. Roll on our boys lets get out of this bloody country. I wonder what they are thinking at home these days. We live in hopes here just watching and waiting for something to happen. Bread was 7 to a loaf today, we also got a sausage ration. News is very scarce.
