P.O.W. Diaries 1945 April 28 1945 J.H.Hallam Stalag VIIIB

Saturday 28 April 1945

Dull, and also inclined to rain. We have stayed in bed most of the day except for roll call, and soup which was short today. Dick and I have just had three raw spuds each, they don't taste bad with a pinch of salt. No news these days. Sgt. Burton is away to see if he can get any Red + parcels in for us. I hope he is lucky. Fires are taboo with the Jerry these days. Roll on bread time. O.K.
